With the holidays upon us, many are scrambling to finish their shopping for the season. Some might be looking for stocking-stuffers, while others could still be searching for a larger gift. In this time of consumerism, it can be hard for someone who wants to shop in an environmentally conscious fashion. Luckily, here at Refillism we have a plethora of options to choose from that will not only make great gifts, but also help the planet!
- Reusable Face Rounds
These are a classic environmentally-friendly swap to make and work as an excellent substitute to single-use options. The reusable face rounds are super functional, and most women will find them useful in everyday life. They pair well with facial routines in the morning, taking off makeup at night, and more. Our reusable facial rounds can be found here, as well as a nice bamboo holder for them.
- Metal Scrubber
A tool for the kitchen that works well as a stocking stuffer, this metal scrubber is a popular choice among our customers. Besides the fact that it’s plastic-free, this kitchen tool is another gift that would see frequent use. It’s important to remember that using items to their fullest extent is more eco-friendly than purchasing items that are only used once.
- Wool Dryer Balls
Did you know that dryer sheets never biodegrade? Our wool dryer ball packs are an all-natural substitute that act as an easy eco-change to make. And, if they end up looking dirty, the dryer balls can be simply thrown in the wash. If you miss the smell of scented laundry sheets, try adding a few drops of essential oils to your wool dryer ball set.
- Reusable Straws
One of my personal favorites, the reusable straw is another classic zero-waste change. Refillism has many reusable straw options including straws made from stainless steel, glass, silicone, and bamboo (as well as a rose gold stainless steel). My preference is glass, but many love the silicone straw as it reminds them of classic plastic straws. I’ve also heard that some find when using a straw in their everyday life, they find themselves encouraged to drink water more and stay hydrated. As a side note, we also have a readily available straw brush, and a bag to carry your straw in while out and about that is currently on sale (this will come in useful when eating out or grabbing a seasonal drink from Starbucks).
- Soap Saver Bag
These small mesh bags help extend the life of soap bars. Some choose to put the soap bar directly into the soap saver bag and scrub down that way, while others use the bag only for the little bits of soap that are too small to use without the bag. This gift could be paired with many of our ample soap options at the store, including the almond coconut bar, sunday soap bar, and our holiday soap gift sets!
Keep in mind that although many of these items are smaller in size, they combine well to make a gift basket! We even have secondhand baskets in the store that would hold an assortment of items.
